This is the first part of the 3PL profile assignment.

For this assignment, you will research a specific 3PL company.  

You will then have 2 tasks for the discussion board:

1.  Create an initial post.  In your initial post, include the following information:

· Which company you chose and why you chose that company to research

· What you hope to learn about the company in your research

· What you think their competitive advantage is in the market

Complete your initial post prior as early in the week as you can.

2.  Complete your research and create a reply to your original post:

· Add a reply to your post explaining what new information you learned from the research

· Were you surprised by any information in your research?

Complete the reply prior to the collaboration due date

Part 2 of the assignment that goes with the discussion board.

For this assignment, you will do a research project on a 3PL company.  You will prepare a PowerPoint slide deck to summarize your research.

A good PowerPoint slide deck has the following characteristics:

· Keeps the attention of the reader (bold but not distracting)

· Easy to read - clear bullet points, not too wordy, slide is not too 'busy'

· Incorporates visuals when helpful

· Consistent information throughout 

Your slides should follow the guidelines below:

Slide 1: 3PL Company name and why you chose to research them

Slide 2: Company overview - when the company started, how they have grown (markets served, size, etc) since their inception 

Slide 3: Services provided - specific 3PL services

Slide 4: This company's competitive advantage - what makes them a 3PL of choice for the markets and customers they serve

Slide 5: Current challenges and outlook - what are the challenges the company is currently facing or expects to face in the next 3-5 years
