DESIGNING A CANDY BAR

Exercise Perspective

• Assume you are going to develop a new candy bar and roll it out in the Kuwaiti market. Develop your marketing strategy for the product including:

1. Identifying and defining your target market (i.e. choose the appropriate base of segmentation that you’ve learned from chapter 9).

2. Based on your answer to question 1 and after determining your point of difference and market positioning. Develop your marketing mix (4Ps) of your new product.

3. How would you suggest adapting your marketing objective and marketing mix throughout the product lifecycle of your new chocolate (Bonus Question)

Instruction notes • Do not forget to write your name(s) and your student ID number(s).

• You can complete the project either individually or with a group of 3 members max. including yourself (i.e. you + 2 more).

• The final project grade weighs 10 points

• Your answers and method of work should be aligned with what you’ve learned in the class and textbook.

• You will be required to participate in the live session that is meant to discuss your project outcome.

• Peer Review: for those who chose to work in groups, all members are expected to contribute equally to the group

deliverable. Usually, all members will get the same individual points as assigned to the project. Each team member may

provide feedback on every other member of the team. Individual grade for team project report deliverables may be

modified by up to 25% of the grade if there are large variations in individual contributions as per peers’ feedback.

• Late submission will be penalized 50% deduction of grade for each day delayed. The project will earn zero points if

submitted beyond 2 days past the due date.

• Bonus points will be awarded for well-thoughted answers in Question 3.

• Preferred file format: MS Word or MS PowerPoint, but save the file as PDF. Name the file by your first& last name.

• File submission: your work must be uploaded into Microsoft Teams (Final project > Files)
