Introduction: an introduction is a few paragraphs giving an overview of your topic

Literature Review: A literature review provides an overview of previous research on a topic that critically evaluates, classifies, and compares what has already been published on a topic. It allows the author to synthesize and place into context the research and scholarly literature relevant to the topic.

Statement of the Problem: One paragraph, defining the problem (why is it important to study this?) include your research question and hypothesis. The first condition of solving a problem is understanding the problem, which can be done by way of a problem statement. The problem statement is a concise description of an issue to be addressed or a condition to be improved upon. It identifies the gap between the current (problem) state and desired (goal) state of a process or product. Focusing on the facts, the problem statement should be designed to address ways to solve the problem (your research is the first start).

Methods Section: Include participants (demographics), materials, and procedure. Refer to your APA manual for an example.

APA Style writing: Use the seventh edition as a reference for writing style, citing, and structure. Write in the third person, never in the first person. Never give and opinion or use “I” as in “I believe” or “I think”—points will be deducted

Conclusion: Final section, pulling everything together, state and explain what you would expect to find if you conducted your research (based on the current research)
