We conducted our first workshop. It was constructive and I received many corrections on how I should handle my assignment. Since I included a lot of unnecessary work, I had to rethink my outline and rewrite most of the assignment.

I watched more documentaries that emphasized on the cases of failed safety in engineering. The documentaries enhanced my understanding of the subject.

We held another workshop and it was successful. Most of us had corrected the areas that we needed to and gave the correct ideas according to the instructions in our assignments. It was the toughest workshop so far but we managed to edit and finish the final parts of our assignments.

1- Reviewing our parts for the points as divided between every group member

2- Discussing the thought of providing real world accidents because of the lack of safety.

3- Researching and offering help to the group members while writing down three main points and seeking progress

4- Making plans for the following meeting based on venue and objectives to be met.

I visited my professor to give him a report on our progress. In our discussion he told me to include a case study which I would derive my information from. Then asked my classmates to help me find a case study.

I was looking for an aspect of safety in engineering specialized on accidents happened due to the lack of information about safety; however, there were not as many information as I expected so I would not add that to our research report. Also, I followed the instructions of how to write a report in blackboard with my classmates

After the completion of today’s workshop, read the writing the project report and intend to follow the style while also considering the information to deliver in the final draft. We completed our instances of accidents by providing 2 examples and focused on having systems that maintain safety in the workplace.

I went to the library to look for a single reference book that we would use as our main source of information. We found one book which was entitled “Engineering a Safer World: Systems Thinking Applied to Safety”. The book was available both online and in hard copy.

We agreed in the last workshop that following workshop will be the last meeting while working on the project so at the last week will focus on including the information on a paper and format while also making a presentation. It is with that reason that I spent today reading about the safety solutions since it will be our last point of the report.

My classmates and I met to see our progress so far. they had met with the other group members earlier and reported on their progress so far too. We exchanged assignments to have a look at each of them and they were both good.

We held the final workshop. In the meeting, we concluded on the final format for the report and included the final set of references in the final document. The report was better organized and a PowerPoint presentation was prepared to accompany it. Both documents had a reference page. The project was finally ready to be presented.
