Instruction

1. Review the project and presentation guideline before completing the project.

2. Instructions for the final case project on Analytics at Lie –Nielson Toolworks Custom-Built Data Tool for a Unique Small Manufacturer

3. This group case project is your final evaluation for the course and is worth 20% of your final grade. The completed project is to be submitted on safe assign in week 12, Dec. 2

4. The project should not be more than 10 pages long excluding the reference page, double line spacing and written in full sentences.

5. The project must have a cover page with the case title, names of all the group member clearly stated with the professor’s name, course code and section on it.

6. The project should have a table of content and the names of the group members should be written against the sections they completed.

7. Read the case posted on the assignment section of blackboard and watch the videos to get all the information for the report.

8. As with all group assignments, each group member is to submit a completed peer evaluation form on the journal section of blackboard.

4. Use the case analysis template to analyze the case.

5. Ensure you fill out the six sections of the template:

Identification of Problem(s), Decision Criteria, Analysis, Alternatives, Decision(s)/Recommendations and Implementation.

2. Questions

Answer all the questions below on a separate page.

3. Works Cited

Your references should be on a separate page called Works Cited.

To review the MLA rules, go to the course page on blackboard, go to the tab called citing and use the MLA citation guide.

4. Presentations – (5%) This is an individual mark

Each group should submit a YouTube video presentation of the case project. Review the presentation guideline, rubric and tools posted on the assignment section of blackboard before completing the presentation.

  Case Questions

1. Given the facts of the case, describe the challenges which Lie – Nielson Tools works (LNT) faced and explain the impact of the challenges on the company’s growth.

2. Summarize the reasons why human resource acquisition and retention is the major challenge for LNT and explain the strategies to overcome the challenge.

3. Describe the different types of waste which LNT experience in its production process and explain the impact it had on the company.

4. Explain the important skill, which Tom’s employees are lacking. State in your opinion how best they can be equipped with the skill set.

5. Describe the concept of lean manufacturing process and explain why Toyota is popular with this production process. Explain if the lean process is suitable for LNT and state the advantages of the process.

6. Summarize the impact of poor inventory management on LNT and describe the implications of stock out and back orders on the company.

7. Distinguish between the ERP system and Fulfil.io system and explain the issue, which LNT had with the ERP system.

8. Assume you are a Business Analytic consultant; explain the process of adopting analytics process for LNT and state the implications on LNT’s business performance. In your opinion, what process should LNT follow to execute a successful analytic design and team?

9. Describe the component of the case difficulty cube, state the concepts in the NLT case and explain how you would position the case on the case difficulty cube.
