Final exam problems (take-home exam)

A random sample of students were asked to take a memory test before and after being spun really fast in a sit-and-spin. They were then asked to report whether or not they felt dizzy. Please note that one of the problems below will use a Chi Square to solve. In general, a Chi Square should not be used when your expected value in any cell is less than 5, but ignore this restriction for the purpose of this exam.

Problems:

1. Following the four steps of hypothesis testing, evaluate whether there is a difference between how someone scores on the pretest vs. the posttest (include males and females in the same sample).

2. Following the four steps of hypothesis testing, evaluate whether there is a difference between males and females on whether or not they get dizzy.

3. Following the four steps of hypothesis testing, evaluate whether gender (males vs. females) and dizziness (yes vs. no) affect posttest scores. Use the following descriptive statistics and partially filled summary table to complete your computations and write up.
