Outside Materials and Attribution of Sources Used:
All materials necessary to successfully complete this exam have been assigned in the first six lessons. Moreover, the purpose of the Exam is to assess your understanding of the materials covered in this course. Accordingly, you are strongly encouraged to rely solely on course materials (assigned readings, PowerPoint slides, videos, your notes, exercises.) in completing this exam. If you choose not to follow this advice, you must provide a citation to any non-course materials you rely on in your answers, even if you do not directly quote from the material. For Internet sources, a working hyperlink is sufficient.
If you directly quote from any resources (including class PowerPoint slides, assigned readings, Internet sources, or other out-of-class materials) in your exam answers, the quoted material must be in quotation marks (“ ”) and you must provide a citation to the source in parentheses. Each of the following examples would be appropriate: (Clinical Ethics, p. 3), (Trolley Car Video, minute 2:30), (Harris text, p. 310).
Submitting your Exam:
This exam is due via Blackboard by 11:59pm on Thursday May 3, 2017. Note that submittals after 11:59pm will have a 5 point reduction. Please attach your answers in a .doc or .docx format into the “HLTHST 314 Final Exam Answer Sheet” available on Blackboard portion of this examination and submit your completed document as a MS Word Document (either .doc or .docx) via Safe Assign.
If you complete your exam before the deadline, early submission is encouraged.

In this portion of the Final you will be reviewing a bill that was introduced in the Idaho Legislature during the recent session.
Examination Portion of Section:
Some agencies during their normal staff meeting will assign members of the staff to read material and report back in the staff meeting about the material. This way the staff can basically stay up to date without having to read all the material themselves. As a member of a health care unit you have been asked to review and provide a “book report” on the legislation in an upcoming meeting. You have been asked to gather the following information:
1. Your assignment is to review Senate Bill 1090 :
a. In your own word what is the purpose of this bill? You answer must be at least 100 words. This must be your own summary of the bill and not a cut and pasted product.
b. What is the projected fiscal impact of the bill?
c. Who is the contact person for the bill?
d. When was the bill first introduced and in what committee?
e. What was the amendment to the bill made by the committee?
f. Who made the motion to amend and who seconded the motion?
g. When did the bill pass the Senate?
h. What was the vote in the Senate?
i. When was it passed on the House?
j. What was the vote?
k. When did the Governor Sign the bill?
2. In this portion of the examination you will review specific sections of the legislation:
a. What group of individuals is being added to the law?
b. Page 2 Lines 1-10 – What is being changed?
c. Page 3 lines 26-49 - How is the law being changed in this section?
d. Page 6 two new definitions have been added?
i. Change #1 – What is this change providing for?
ii. Change #2 - What does this change do?
e. Page 8 lines 16-32 - What is the effect of this change on providing care?
f. Page 8 lines 43-49 – Is there an obligation to report violations of section (8)?
g. Page 9 lines 24-27 refer back to Idaho Code 39-4514. What is the title of that particular portion of the Idaho Code?
