Short Answer 1: In no more than 750 words, describe how Soviet-American tensions in the early 1980s contributed to the American public’s response to The Day After.

Short Answer 2:  In no more than 1000 words, cite two examples of what you consider to have been presidential successes studied this semester, and two times presidents, again in your educated opinion (backed with evidence of course), did not achieve their strategic goals.  [Four examples total]

Long Answer 1 (No set word limit; in a cogent essay that clearly states YOUR argument, write until you have answered the question to your satisfaction):  Using specific examples drawn from lecture, discussion section, your primary source reader and your textbook readings, describe the development of the American President's commander-in-chief role over the course of the twentieth century.
