Various factors and events demonstrate change practices that can help improve performance and foster individual development. In this case, we can analyze the various developmental changes in the novel and their outcome. Covering arguments, and opinions from people on the change. My reflections and argument will be based on events and the factors that have facilitated the success and the failure that has been demonstrated in the novel, reflection on Rose and Lan Little Dog’s grandmother the novel. This topic is essential since it creates a foundation for learners to incorporate and adopt better behaviors. The novel has some aspect that pushes an individual to be persistent and resilient in their strategies and performance for a successful future. Comment by Leesa Dean: Unclear idea.

Thesis statement

The novel prompts various themes and a thesis that can be used to analyze and discuss the events in the novel. In this paper, my thesis will be based on language adoption, and how it allowed Little Ddog to gain success in his adventure of life. This will be compared to the Little Dog, another who faced significant challenges due to her rudimentary language skills. Comment by Leesa Dean: Do you mean Rose? Comment by Leesa Dean: There is too much filler in the introduction which leads to a confusing start. You really want to outline only the essentials of your argument in the introductory paragraph.

Literature review

Culture

This book demonstrates culture being reflected in various ways in the context of the novel. Culture is the belief of a certain community that indicates identity within a group of people. In the novel, the author said “I was trying to break free” this statement can be translated as breaking free from the past culture and adapting to the modern way. It is important to understand culture since it helps in interaction and communication with the natives for a better understanding of the new environment. American culture has changed to embrace the various cultures across different geographical areas. This fosters good relations among countries, and provides a different learning experience hence, providing numerous opportunities. The novel in the chapter little dog has indicated an embrace of a different culture. The author has different cultural roots and has produced his work in another language from a different culture from his. Comment by Leesa Dean: Did the author or Little Dog say this? Whast page? Be sure tyo include your MLA citations.

In the first part, the author stated “every history has more than one thread, each thread a story of division”, a reflection on immigration culture where there is exploration and adventure to new territories in search of a better life and opportunity. In America, immigration culture has changed for the better welcoming various people into our borders for different reasons such as educational opportunities, job searching, security purpose, or tourism. Comment by Leesa Dean: Citation needed (page number).

The American reforms in the immigration policies also played a huge role in ensuring there is peace with various neighboring countries. This also opens up an opportunity for people to pursue their careers and realize their dreams. Different leaders have their opinions on immigration and in America, this has been seen in the demonstration of the leadership of Barrack Obama and Donald Trump. This opens up different perspectives and opportunities for citizens

Based on the novel’s part one and the author's success in his book, “the first in our family to go to college, squandered it on a degree in English. How I fled my shitty high school to spend my days in New York lost in library stacks”, there is acceptance of different cultures in the American culture that promotes talents and various opportunities for the people. living within the state. The book reflects cultural acceptance of the ability of the author to write a book in his native language, a language that is different from his culture addressing it to his mother. This shows adaptability and understanding of diversity that facilitates success in his writing career. The key factor is being accepted and given equal resources that help in attaining one’s objective. The American culture of immigrants has provided a positive encouragement to embrace change and cultural diversity. Comment by Leesa Dean: He was born in Vietnam, so Vietnamese would be his native language.

Communication

Communication is an essential factor in facilitating success and informational relay for person to person. This enables one to relay their message effectively to their targeted group. Communication is a skill that is taught at the school level but can be improved through personal interest. The beauty of language is adaptability and mastery of the art of speaking various languages. Understanding various languages puts one in a unique sport of interaction. Effective communication helps in reaching a diverse group of people as seen in the novel. The author has understood various languages and increases the understanding level of his work by translating it into various languages that have reached a wider range of people. The author used different languages to ensure people understood the book's content. Comment by Leesa Dean: I was confused by this sentence. Here, if you want to discuss communication, be sure to discuss it in the specific context of the novel, using examples from the novel.

Communication failure is shown when rose was showing a lack of interaction with people around Rose’sher working place. This failure is seen in her lack of communication and her lack of interest in learning a new language that will help her interact and communicate well with her clients at the nail salon. Lack of communication hinders interaction between people hence poor relationships. Communication also offers protection from various perspectives, having someone to confide in having someone to seek advice from, and general communication of ideas and feelings. In the chapter, Rose's communication would help her in communicating seeking ideas and advice about the trauma that she went through in her life that affected her life throughout her life in part two of the novel.

Psyche and identity

Psyche and identity demonstrate personality and soul which determines a person’s future through the experience they have had while growing up. The novel demonstrates these factors in two different cases Lan and Rose on page 99 experience Rrose went through with her violent husband. In recent lifestyle, there is protection through policies that helps cover and provide a secure life for our generation acceptance, and support for who we truly are in terms of identity and personality. Family support is crucial in a person’s development from infantry to adulthood. Reflecting on Rosea’s mistreatment by her father fosters the development of fear of interaction resulting from fear of judgment from society. It’s crucial to understand and support people around us and respect their decision in whatever ideas they have for their future to foster Proper growth and development in society. Lan in the novel also had a trade made due to the circumstance she went through and grew around that determined her future personality. Comment by Leesa Dean: I'm not sure what you mean here. Comment by Leesa Dean: Your discussion of how violoence shaped Rose's character is good.

Change as a theme

Change as portrayed in the novel is significant in growth and development personally, acceptance, and resistance to the author and Rose’s cases as reflected in the novel. The theme of change has assisted in the realization of opportunities in career development and learning the surrounding. Change in the novel has reflected on the reshaping of history where diversity as a development factor is gaining momentum to becoming a necessity in today’s lifestyle. Change in collaboration and acceptance of other people into a different culture to foster learning and development among individuals. Reshaping the history, from historic to the modern lifestyle in terms of the decision, and life choices have promoted the development of abilities to become better people in the future. In modern life, the changes are based on decision-making and personal choices that people have in their life. Respecting and supporting the decision they make in life to foster confidence and success in people’s adventures of life. This novel helps to demonstrate the historical changes that occur in people’s lives, in communication, acceptance by other people, and interaction. Comment by Leesa Dean: Rather than discuss change as a general concept, you want to specifically show something in the novel, like how the characters demonstrate these aspects of change.

The author was accepted in the American culture which supported his career choices. This was through support and collaboration with other people around his working environment, helping him produce the best work of his art of poetry. Rose would have also benefited from the same approach of acceptance to foster her success in life, through the development of language and skills in her field of work.

Conclusion

In this paper, the reflection is based on the events covered in the novel in collaboration with the theoretical questions by Celena to demonstrate the different changes and experiences that have taken place to foster inclusivity in society. Literary theories demonstrate various circumstances of life and are change agents for a better future. Analyzing, and understanding the historical changes that have taken place in recent lifestyle. Cultural change that has occurred in different geographical areas opens up opportunities for people to explore and take advantage of in developing and realizing their future.

Since I looked at an early draft of this paper, I’m aware that you struggled to find a focus. I just want to take a minute to remind you of your thesis statement:

“In this paper, my thesis will be based on language adoption, and how it allowed Little Dog to gain success in his adventure of life. This will be compared to the Little Dog, another who faced significant challenges due to her rudimentary language skills.”

That was a good thesis statement, but then when I read your paper, your discussions were all over the place, ranging from explorations of culture and the human psyche to American politics.

I have decided to give you a passing grade based on the intent of the thesis statement, but the discussion itself was not centred on that thesis statement. It would have been a great topic!
