Final Exam – Due June 22 at 12:29pm in Turnitin in Week 11

Congratulations to each of you for creating your own e-commerce business. I look forward to reviewing

your website.

For this final paper, you will provide answers to the following questions based on your business idea and

your own website that you created in My Business Idea – Bringing it to Life Using Shopify.

1. Your textbook, E-commerce 2019 15e by Laudon and Traver discuss the unique features of e-

commerce technology found in Chapter 1, Section 1.3 – Page 17 to 21 – Unique Features of E-

Commerce Technology. According to your textbook, there are “8 unique features of e-

commerce technology” (pg. 17 per the ebook). Pick any three (3) of the eight unique

technologies found in the textbook and you will show and explain how your website

demonstrates and/or leverage each of the technologies for business significance. Pick only

technologies your website contains; Do not pick technologies that your website does not

contain. The explanation must include pictures from your website to support your writing.

2. Every business is impacted by ethical, social and political issues. The textbook discusses various

ethical, social, and political issues that are related to e-commerce business. Based on your

business that you created per My Business Idea – Bringing it to Life Using Shopify, identify two

ethical issues, two social issues, and two political issues related to your business. This would be

a total of six issues. Provide a short explanation of each issue, and then provide a meaningful

solution to each issue.

3. We discussed in class the challenges with the privacy changes to Apple’s iOS 14.5 and the

upcoming Google’s Android 12 mobile operating system which could have a significant impact

on digital marketing. Based on the textbook for e-commerce marketing and advertising

concepts as well as social, mobile, and local marketing, what impacts do you foresee to your e-

commerce business with this change in privacy setting? Review all areas in the textbook for

marketing and advertising, social, mobile and local marketing to determine your answers. Be

sure to include your assumptions that lead to your answer or answers.

• Must be typed in Microsoft Word or other word processor. No handwritten answers accepted.

• All questions must be answered.

• Do not wait until the last minute to submit your paper. Your computer time may be different

than Turnitin’s time clock. Late submissions will not be accepted.

• Original writing is mandatory. Turnitin score in the body of the assignment must be less than

7%.

• Please follow APA 7th edition. In-text citation and reference page required.

• Title page, Abstract, Executive Summary, Introduction, Conclusion, TOC not required.

• Must use citations from the textbook to achieve maximum marks for each question. See rubrics

below.

• This is an individual assignment. Collaboration is not allowed. Collaboration in any form is

considered academic dishonesty and all students involved will receive an automatic zero mark.

• Number each answer.

• If the question states to “show”, you will take a screenshot of your website as part of your

answer.

• Use correct business and technology terminology.

• Be sure to include the business significance of the technology used in your website.

• No minimum or maximum word count. I am looking for thoroughness and completeness of

answer as well as demonstration that your answer connects to the concept/theory as well as to

business significance. Time is your constraint.

• You can submit to Turnitin as many times as needed before the due date. No similarity report is

provided during the exam period.

• A well written paper is one that teaches the reader. Do not assume that the reader will fill in the

blanks of information. Marks are only given on what is shown in your work and not what the

instructor believes you know.

available till 6:30pm on June 21st. After 6:30pm, you are on your own.

Rubric 100 marks

• Question 1,2,3: Thorough and complete answers. I will be looking for specifics and details in

the answers that uses appropriate terminology. Use of appropriate and relevant in-text citation

from the textbook is the only way that you can the possible maximum mark for each question.

(Up to 25 marks with use of in-text citation each x 3 – Total 75 marks) or (Up to 20 marks

without use of in-text citation each x 3 – Total 60)

• Grammar/Mechanics/Readability (15 marks)

• APA 7th edition – In-text and reference page. More than 3 errors will get an automatic 0. No in-

text citation but only reference page will get a maximum of 5 marks. – (10 marks)
