Rubric and Instructions for Biomimicry and STEM Learning Nugget Synthesis 100 Points

For your Final Synthesis you will submit a summary of your learning. You will complete 16 Learning “Nuggets” (content, definitions, readings etc.) from the semester that demonstrate your Biomimicry knowledge. These nuggets will and can include learning about what is biomimicry, what innovations have been developed and how used, what we have learned from our past etc. Look through your notebook and identify items that we have addressed and learned about each week based on the chapters and session content. I have identified a dozen nuggets that are mandatory to address. You then can complete the additional nuggets by choosing learnings of your choice. The final box is for your personal reflection. For each Nugget you will identify, summarize, and explain each in detail. Each nugget should be supported by specific examples and evidence of understanding/learning. Make sure you make connections to your overall learning about Biomimicry. Each response will be two-three paragraphs in length containing at least five sentences per paragraph. The goal is to demonstrate understanding of the concept, its application and connection to other learned concepts. Your goal is to demonstrate a strong understanding and deep knowledge. Do not assume I know what you know. Spell it out in detail. Each Nugget is worth a total of six points: three points for the Nugget summary (what is it) and two points for demonstration of background knowledge by making connections to other biomimicry knowledge and nuggets learned during the class (how the nugget impacts other biomimicry knowledge or problems to be solved) and 1 point for writing. The Learning Summary is to be written in the template below, and turned in no later than the assigned date and time. Upload your completed assignment to blackboard.
