As most Roman�c works, in this pain�ng his focus was on colors rather than the design. Using dis�nct

colors emphasizing on nature and humanity. The pronuncia�on of the lines in his paint describes the

intensity of his work increased overwhelming nature, capturing the viewers in a powerful way.

B4) Relevance to Today

Struggle with issue of sexism and equality exist s�ll today. As Turner’s paint demonstrates, women and

children being thrown overboard valuing the men. Even today a man has a beBer chance qualifying for a

job and earning a higher salary than a woman in the employment world, given that both have the same

educa�on.

C) EDects on Analysis on Percep�on

In conduc�ng my research about the paint and the ar�st, I was able to learn that during the slave trade,

there were lots of aboli�onist that were an�-slavery or free human labor and fought in their own ways

whether through conferences or ar�s�cal hidden message to express their humanity.
