FIN 620 – PowerPoint Presentation Rubric

Guidelines:  One PowerPoint Presentation is submitted. If a group presentation, typically submitted by the group leader. For individual assignments, each

person submits one file.

 Additional points (up to 5 points) for additional presentation methods – video, audio, etc. to enhance the presentation.

Format/Style Requirements

1. Ten or more slides are submitted 2. Grammatical structure of bulleted lists are parallel 3. Bullet points are short and specific 4. Bulleted lists are short (no more than 3-4 items) 5. Visuals/graphics used when appropriate 6. Text limited on the slide (headings no more than 4 words; bullets

no more than 7 words per line) 7. Capitalize the important words in the slide title and the first word in

the bulleted list 8. Omit punctuation at the end of the bulleted list 9. Fonts used consistently (same font for all titles, bullets, etc.) 10. Color used effectively (good contrast, complementary accent

colors)

1. Less than 10 slides submitted 2. Grammatical structure not parallel on more than one slide 3. Bullet points are not short and specific on more than one slide 4. Clarity, Concreteness, and Conciseness

1. Concepts, argument, text and graphics are clearly understandable to the reader

2. All content included (summary, assumptions, alternatives, recommendations, and “what if” analysis) included

3. Effective use of data to support argument 4. Content appropriate level of detail for audience; demonstrates

understanding of audience and makes adjustments for the audience
