Filters mini assignment
In the context of filters, I want you to do some research to "find out" about another group's perspective that is different than yours. We did this in class, but now I want you to do deeper research.
You might do this in a number of ways, internet research, visit with someone in a quasi-interview setting.
Basically, try to find out something about how they might think differently than you do.
If you choose to talk to a friend, colleague, or relative, BE VERY SENSITIVE IN HOW YOU DO THIS AS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR OFFENDING, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO DO SO.
For example, I am a 51-year-old white male who has only traveled outside of this country a little.
I might visit with my friend Dr. Petrie who has traveled in South America extensively and ask her how she feels I could communicate effectively when studying abroad.
Another example, I have a friend who is a young professional in Spokane who is Buddhist. What can he tell me about that religion and the fundamental principles and beliefs that shape it?
Post what you learned about others and about yourself.
