You are on India land

In the footage, it is mainly about human rights and divided territory in between the

boarder of Canada and the United States. There is an island between these two countries boarder

but it is in an island where Mohawks have the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation that they have free

rights to cross the international border. It recorded the event happened in 1968 that the Indians

live on the island blocked the bridge by using their cars. This bridge connected two countries for

transportation because the Indians wanted to protect their rights as the same time while they are

blocking the bridge they were breaking the law in Canada. There is one law relating the connect

ing bridge in the history about free crossing of boarder called Jay treaty which was made be

tween the Great Britain and the United States in 1794 after the revolutionary war.

This documentary film started interestingly with the negotiations between the representa

tives of Indians with the head of Canadian representative from government. It is using the

method of flashback forward in cinematographic techniques to raise up the interests of audiences

first with a powerful conversation by showing some scene later happens future in the

footage.The Mohawks states that their people did not belong to any of Canada or United States’s

citizenship because they are in between the boarder and they are Indians. Although they seems

themselves as brothers and sisters with these two countries, still they think they are completely

different identities and countries therefore they should not be follow and endure unfair laws from

these two countries. But from there the scene changed to recorded about the protesting by people

from the Indian reservation areas. This filming method is montage method which is by changing

and editing two scenes seem to be non-related but the photographer added them together at the

same time to attract attention of their audience. Montage method attracting audiences’ eyes and

minds because of their abstract and render these events. Framing method from cinematography

techniques, the photographer recorded with the winter view in the area which have the color of

white. All these people in this film are black color therefore they are creating an abstract with

white background view. Editing is also an important method in this footage because in order to

attract more audiences’ attention, delete the useless part and combine some interesting scenes

together will be better than the original footage. Videos are not all real, for some reality shows in

order to have more gossip news they always delete or combine the most skeptical scenes together

,deleting evidences suspicious spots from a video used in some courts.

Indians people are protecting their rights and trying their best to getting back their rights

but they did not started a war yet with fighting. They peacefully made sighs and stands out to

speak and negotiate with polices. Polices used some force to move their cars by force because

they were trying to clear the bridge but the Mohawks did not agree with their actions. They were

making their own laws saying that if anyone disregards their willing there will be fines or put

into prison. As they were stopping polices to move their car by force both sides lost their temper,

there were one Indian representative speak by standing on a car to negotiate with them in a legal

court. At the end, the footage go back to their beginning negotiating scenes and ended with the

view of bridge which brought back audiences to wonder what were the final result.
