Eye-catching info –

Introduce us to the information that interested you by leading into it with a sentence that includes an active verb and either the author’s name or the article’s title, or both.  Here’s an example:

In her article “What Women Want Now” Nancy Gibbs reveals the downside of equality.

Next, paraphrase some information that caught your eye, putting the information into your own words without your reactions to it. 

            Women are not as happy as they thought they would be.

After the paraphrased information, in parentheses, put the author’s name and the page on which this information appears. If there is no page, add n.p.  For example, (Smith 35) or (Jones n.p.).  Note there is no punctuation mark between the author’s name and the page number.
