Training & Development

Students should assume that they are independent training consultants and that the organization has contacted them to conduct an assessment of training needs and to design and provide the necessary training to its employees.

DEVELOP A TRAINING PROGRAM:

· Examined the strategic plan of our organization.

· Conducted a SWOT analysis.

· Conducted a needs assessment.

· Examined adult learning theories.

· Written SMART training objectives that reflect the strategic plan of our organization and meet the learning needs of our employees.

Part 1:

1. Name of company selected

a. Students should submit the names of their team members and the name of their selected organization.

2. Mission Statement

3. Vision

4. Goals

5. Organizational Strategy

Part 2:

6. Design a needs assessment instrument for your organization.

7. What information do you need?

8. What methods will you use to do a needs assessment?

9. Discuss your business strategy as identified in the SWOT analysis and explain how training aligns with that strategy.

Part 3:

10. Write a learning goal for your training project. Write SMART objectives for your training. Ensure your objectives reflect the strategic focus of your organization.

11. Write learning objectives that address the three components of training objectives and apply to all three learning domains.

Part 4:

12. How much will your training program cost? Use a simple budget template.

13. Write a Lesson Plan for your project

a. Incorporating experiential learning methods.

14. Design Visual Aids for your project

15. Plan training methods and activities for your training project.

a. Include comments about how your planned instruction will accomplish transfer of training.

b. Ensure your training content incorporates methods that facilitate transfer of training.

c. Consider how you will measure transfer after the training is concluded.

16. Be sure to include how you are verifying the training program works. Evaluation.
