Assessment requirement: Prepare a 10-minute poster presentation on the following topic-

Cost Efficiency within markets structures. Discuss and compare efficiency in terms of costs within each of the 5 market structures.

Assessment Details and Instructions:

You need to produce an A2 format poster and include the following:

· Heading – title and author

· Introduction – outline of presentation

· Methodology – research methods

· Discussion – efficiency within each market structure focusing on costs

· Conclusion and recommendations

· Reference list

Assessment Details and Instructions:

Your presentation should follow the following format

Introduction – this section should introduce your presentation and explain the focus of the presentation.

Methodology – this section should explain how you researched the topics within the presentation. Explain why you selected the sources used.

Discussion – this is the main body of the presentation and should analyse efficiency within each market structure. The focus of this analysis should be costs within each market structure. Comparison of efficiency and costs within Perfect Competition, Monopolistic Competition, Oligopoly, Monopoly and Pure Monopoly.

Conclusion – briefly summarise your main findings stating in your opinion which markets are more cost efficient.

Reference list – list all sources of information – use a smaller print than in other sections.

This component is worth 40% of the overall grade for the Economics For Business module.

Presentation skills and appropriate structure - 15 marks available

13 -15	Good presentation skills / clear language used throughout / good structure applied and followed / points are linked and relate to poster
9 - 12	A discernible structure / adequate presentation skills though improvements could be made / clear but limited attempt to follow structure and present findings
5 - 8	Some attempt at presentation structure / evidence of a some (limited) structure and attempts at basic presentation skills

Poster quality – 15 marks available

11 - 15	Clear and engaging poster covering all points necessary / good layout used / details points / good level of referencing used

0 - 5	Poster covers superficial points / no depth to written work / incorrect format followed / lacks focus

Understanding of costs within each market structure – 25 marks available
