Field Trip #2 Balch Creek GEOG 210 Lab
Assignment Details: For this week’s assignment, please watch the video posted in D2L from Balch Creek. You will find the video under content in D2L. Write a report on the geomorphic, fluvial, and biogeographic processes and interactions you observed. In the report, write one paragraph on geomorphic processes (for the purpose of this lab, hill-slope processes), one paragraph on fluvial processes (stream processes), and one paragraph on the biogeography (living things) in the park. Write a fourth paragraph describing how geomorphic, fluvial, and biogeography interact with each other. In this fourth paragraph, or in a fifth paragraph, please discuss how humans shape these processes in the park.
Extra Credit Opportunity (5 points): This is strongly encouraged for students who have missing assignments! Up to 5 extra credit points will be given to students that visit Balch Creek in-person and take photos of the processes they describe in their report. This may include photos of mass wasting events, tree succession, stream morphology, large woody debris etc.
