Good evening class,

During week two we are coming up with an outline for out Field of Study on a career we would like to achieve in the world. My Field of Study project will be based on the roots of Psychology. When I turned 16, my family and I had to through family therapy due to a traumatic event. As I was in the room with my family and the therapist, I was really admiring how she listened and put herself in our shoes. She asked specific questions that we would have never thought about. She took her time understanding the situation and wanted to know each of our viewpoint on it. As she was understanding the situation and asking questions, she always made sure each person said what was on their mind at the moment. While in family therapy, she even talked to each of us in one on one sessions to hear our feelings and thoughts. Even though we were in family therapy concerning an event, she got our insight and emotions on other things in our life as well. Once we finally ended our eight week session, I knew that being in a career field of Psychology would be a great idea and something different. I got a lot of great pointers and information from the therapist and I actually still have her contact information today. I would like to achieve my master’s in Psychology and study for a PhD or PsyD. One day I will be a Pediatric Psychologist and I’m speaking it into existence.

Part One:

Main Topic/Theme: Pediatric Psychologist

What is the annual income for this field? Is this job based on salary pay? Will I have to relocate for job offers?

Will I be able to adapt to the environment and work load? Will I be able to understand children’s emotions and feelings? Will this job take me away from my friends and family?

Conclusion paragraph.

Part Two:

As I sit here reading and researching a small amount of information about a Pediatric Psychologist. It makes me feel so happy and excited that I actually found something that I would like to soon make a career out of. It brings me back to the days when I was in my therapy sessions, watching and actually feeling where the therapist was coming from and relating to. While doing a small amount of research, I would like to find informative scholar sources from the APUS library, psychology websites, medical journals, and articles.
