The Interview

10-20-20 Treatment

Reporters from the Marineburg News are sent to talk to one of the two politicians running for presidency of the nation. While talking they discover the cruel and uncaring nature of the second runner up, Fenriz Jebediah, and what his true intention is once he becomes the new leader of Marineburg. The names of these reporters are Nettie, Scott, and Kole.

*Note: End of Treatment.

INT. INSIDE THE FENRIZ OFFICE – NIGHT

Bright moonlight is shining into the dimly lit room, Fenriz is standing in front of his desk awaiting the group as they head into his office. Lighting a cigarette, he motions to the six guards there to prepare the room and to stay near the walls.

FENRIZ

(warmly)

I want you to be kind

to our next guests’ alright boys?

Fenriz takes a drag of his cigarette.

GUARD 1

Yes sir.

All the Guards prepare and move out to the sides of the office to give space to the oncoming guests. As Nettie, Scott, Kole enter the office they are greeted by Fenriz and sit down in the seats posted in front of Fenriz’s desk.

FENRIZ

Well, well, well!

SCOTT

Hello mister Fenriz, and yes, we are here to ask about you

and what you stand for. Also, anything on your

past would be very helpful.

KOLE

We are interested about your past and how that

could be a motivator to your rising success with the people.

We hear that you also have big plans

for this nation from many circles of power

and a few of the wealthy in the upper section.

Nettie takes out her notepad and a pencil, ready to write down everything she can. Ferniz stares at the three before taking another drag and walking around the reporters.

FENRIZ

(slowly)

Ah, how much did they say?

KOLE

A lot that would definitely shake your entire plan to get

to become the president of this nation. We were sent to get

straight to the point and ask, why exactly do you desire war

with the people of the neighboring kingdom?

NETTIE

And is it true that you were nothing more than a worker for the

Cahill Family until you were mysteriously given the inheritance

of the late Ivanovic Cahill?

With this line of questioning Fenriz becomes still as he stares out into the window viewing the entire nation and the neighboring kingdom far away.

FENRIZ

(menacingly)

Those are very good questions, questions that can get you

taken away from the memory of history

and never to be seen again.

He snaps, the guards immediately block the entrance of the office. Nettie, Scott, and Kole stand up surprised and scared. They seem to know what will come next.

SCOTT

(rapidly)

You can’t hurt us; we’re protected by the people and the

news. You even so much as scratch us and you’ll be taken

down and publicly defaced!

Fenriz walks towards them, taking another drag and then blowing out the foul-smelling smoke.

FENRIZ

(laughingly)

Oh, ho ho! My good friends, if you already know how I have most

of them under my thumb... then you know exactly who else I will

soon have under my thumb. Those bumbling fools and the news

won’t be enough to stop me, not anymore. So, you three will be

my first experiment, the question?

Can a politician get away with murder?

Scott and Kole try to run towards the door and push away the guards at the front, only for Kole to get stabbed right through the torso and Scott to be beaten while Nettie stands before Fenriz. Scared and petrified she stares at Fenriz who only smiles at her and then begins to speak again.

NETTIE

(shakingly)

W-w-why? We o-only wanted the truth!

FENRIZ

(coldly)

The truth, is a beautiful and horrible thing. You should of all

taken it with caution, but do not worry, you’ll learn from your

mistakes in the afterlife.

With that Fenriz takes out a dagger and slits the throat of Nettie who slumps down to the floor and tries to cry for help. Fenriz then begins to clean the dagger and kick Scott right in the face, delivering the final blow. He points to all of them and the guards motioning to pick them up.

FENRIZ

Take them to the kitchen, have them chopped to pieces

and then find a good place to hide the bodies.

I’ll go down to the news room tomorrow and give them

the unfortunate news, as well as payment to the families

for their accidental death.

GUARD 1

Yes sir.
