Unfortunately your proposal has not met the minimum requirements for a pass mark. First, you need to read the assignment brief carefully and ensure that your proposal is aligned with the client's requirements, which I will explain below. The Social Impact Team (SIT) is your client, who commissions this research. You need to be aware of the scope of their activities and why they commission this research. SIT is a key organisation within the University of Leicester, and their primary mission is to promote eco-awareness among UOL students - not students from Finland and Sweden. The results from this study will only be used by the SIT and not other stakeholders, as you claim in your proposal. Besides your timeframe is not align with the timeframe stipulated in the client's brief.(1 April - 30 September).

Background

This section provides a number of generalised arguments concerning student's orientation to greenwashing, without always beings supported by evidence. When making a key argument, you need to ensure that it is supported by evidence/references.  You have however tentatively explained how this particular research would be useful for SIT in helping them align their strategic vision to the UN Sustainable Goal. However you need to be more specific about the information needs of your client.

 Research aim and objectives

Your research aim and objectives are clearly deviated from the target population stipulated by the assignment/client brief. From the set of objectives provided, it is unclear whether your study is exploratory or conclusive in nature. Objective 1 seems to require a correlational study, and this would suggest that a conclusive study would have been more appropriate.

Methodology

In relation to the above, your objectives and later your methodology would suggest that your study is more conducive to a conclusive research design. Yet you have confused the two by suggesting an exploratory study.

Data collection method.

You seemed to have confused secondary research with primary qualitative research. In this proposal, you are asked to design either a qualitative or a quantitative research. The section on 'qualitative research'' is therefore flawed and show no understanding of qualitative research. Later, you then suggest the use of a quantitative study. While you have tentative  provided an indication of dependent and independent variables you are testing, it would have been better if you provide references to support your rationale. Even in this section, you show very superficial understanding of quantitative research. A quantitative research involves a large scale study using structured interviews. You cannot conduct small sample of qualitative data for a quantitative study.

Sampling

Here you have equally confused probability and non-probability sampling. Please be mindful that stratified sampling is a form of probability sampling. Based on your description of distributing your questionnaire via email  - your participants are expected to self select and therefore opt in to the survey. As such, you have introduced ‘human selection’ (on the part of the participants who self select) into the sampling process, making your sampling non- probabilistic. In addition, you seem to have applied a few selection criteria - which means that your sampling method is more conducive to a non-probability quota sampling.

Timeframe and Credentials

The client/assignment brief clearly stipulated that you propose your research design to take place between 1 April – 30 September. Your timeframe does not reflect this. You have not factor in important tasks such as designing the questionnaire, piloting, sampling and recruitment,  etc. In addition, due to the issues highlighted above, your credential statements lack credibility and unfortunately shows a lack of attention given to the client’s research need and what they do. Being able to align your proposal to the client's research need is very crucial for a research bid. Providing a coverpage would have also enhance the professional standing of your agency.

Lastly, please make sure that you provide evidence and references to support your methodological justifications throughout. You must reference all the research concepts you cited in your proposal, as stipulated in the assignment brief.

This work shows a poor understanding of the assignment brief and research design in general and therefore the work is not at a sufficient level to pass.
