Master Level Films and Media Research Paper

I took a quick look at your proposal, and here are a few things to think about:

1.) Your topic is extremely broad.  You need to narrow it significantly.  I'd suggest looking at one medium or one genre in a particular medium.  And I'd further narrow it by looking at representation of one particular group (which might combine gender and race/ethnicity).  Every race and ethnicity faces different issues in terms of stereotyping and problematic portrayals in the media.  While they all are problematic, they aren't the same issues.  It also depends on what type of media you're talking about, the genre of the media content, and perhaps the country of origin of the material.  So, you might narrow it just to film, but then I'd further narrow it to something like drama or comedy, or box office hits, or superhero films, etc

2.) I'd be more specific with your method, based on the comment above.  Which films/TV shows/podcasts/etc will you be analyzing? 

3.) Also be more specific with your theory.  Once you narrow your topic further, certain theories will be better suited to what you want to look at, whether it be critical race theory, feminist theory, etc.  Doing a more thorough lit review will give you an idea of how others have constructed their studies in the past. 

Of course, you could always choose just one film or television series to analyze.  That might keep the scope of your project in check, and would help you focus in on your research, allowing you to move forward more quickly.
