Prepare a short-written essay on your bill. Short essays should be about 700 words (approx. 2 pages) of text. Your essay should be informative, exhibiting knowledge about the legal issue surrounding the topic and synthesizing the information learned.

The topic below is your essay assignment:

1) Analyze a Texas bill filed for in 2018 for the 86th Legislative session.

2) Identify a bill filed (ex: HB 257), who filed it and provide a summary.

a) Explain what individuals, groups, agencies and/or organizations would support it and why and who

would oppose it and why.

b) Next, explain whether in your opinion the passage of this bill would cost the taxpayers money

3) Finally, provide a brief explanation describing whether you think this bill is likely to pass or not. Explain why.
