Detailed instructions for the students:

Title: health insurance in African countries

  • Introduction - describe what your dream project is about – generally it could be: A. Creating of a new healthcare organization (or system, activity, product, etc.) or B. Changing or modifying an existing healthcare organization (or system, activity, product, etc.). Shortly explain your personal involvement & reasons for choosing your project; present your view about how this project is related to your career - now and in the future.

  • Determine the real problem to solve - give your rationale for choosing your project, its importance and value - make an appropriate analysis, including statistical data, research results, strategic documents, etc. 

  • Objectives - main and specific SMART objectives of your project.

  • Scope and target groups – explain why you choose these groups, present analysis with their main characteristics and numbers, difficulties and limitations; present the expected results & benefits of your project for these groups.

  • Strategic alignment - where your organization (or system, activity, product, etc.) will be positioned in the healthcare system; what interactions or relations will it have and with who; will you have partners; who will be your competitors; list your stakeholders and prioritize them.

  • Major tasks and work breakdown - describe what activities should be performed to achieve the end results; for how long and with what schedule.

  • Management design of organization - organizational structure; organizational culture; leadership style; human resources management - recruiting, measuring, motivating, training; clinical governance - if any; quality management - type and initiatives; evidence-based management.

  • Determine resources - explain the type and quantity of resources you need - human resources, physical resources, financial resources, natural resources, know how etc.

  • Develop a budget - main and specific costs and income tables; expected profit.

  • Monitoring and control - how would be the achievement of goals measured - indicators, techniques, monitoring process; who will perform the control; types of control.

  • Future vision – what will be the possible development of your project in the next 10 – 20 years, expected changes, general conclusion about its vitality.
