Family Health Patterns Assessment Essay

Family is taken as the fundamental and natural unit of the community. The structure of the family is composed of family members. Family entails individuals of diverse age group form the young ones to the elders. Research shows that the reactions, as well as the activities of the family influence family’s patterns as whole. The primary objective of nursing is to advance family health. Family health assessment depicts the evaluation of potential and actual individual problem (O'Hanrahan, et al., 2017).

The nursing goal gives both direct and indirect care to the individual and society in relation to the assessment, identification, nursing interventions, enactment and appraisal. In nursing practice, historically conceptual models are used in the family assessment. Health assessment is based on both objective and subjective information. In this case, Gordon’s 11 functional health assessment patterns are used in the family assessment. Gordon’s functional assessment patterns are significant tool used to assess and evaluate traditional health patterns of the family, and it permits health practitioner to focus on the inside of the family’s overall health.

Gordon’s family health patterns were used to assess a suburban Latino family of four to comprehend the overall family moral force. Based on the values/health perceptual exposure, there was an overall bond amongst family members in which doctor’s health recommendations is the family’s first precedence.
