Topic- Critical Race Theory

1. Open-up a new research file

2. All research materials, except respondent replies in questionnaire, must be typed in double space font 12

3. First page in the file is Title Page: in mid line type specific title of your research, next line types your full name, third line type Sociology of Law Fall 2019

4. Next page is Contents: type line by line with page number the research topic, research statement, research significance, research literature, research theory, research assumptions, research design, and insert a copy of your research questionnaire.

5. Research Title: must be specifically indicative of the research theme and contents; avoid generalized titles.

6. Research Statement: type one clear paragraph on the area and purpose of the research. Mention at least one major fact about the research public and/or community concerns.

7. Research Significance: Justify reasons or motives to conduct the research; refer to the size of population affected by the research problem and the location and time framework of the problem. Avoid any personal rationale of the research.

8. Research Literature: prepare 3 pages on the published literature of your research topic. Consult textbooks and specialized academic and professional journals. Be sure to document all quotations and citations accurately in the research literature. Avoid unauthentic or poorly documented website materials. Research without authentic documentation will not grade.

9. Research Theory: Select one theory from textbook. Theories not studied in the course are not acceptable. Define the selected theory by quotation and citation from the course textbook(s).

10. Research Assumptions: Based on your research selected theory, make two assumptions (testable statements) to guide construction of research design.

11. Research Design: make 10 questions in one unified Questionnaire. Address the first five questions to Assumption One and the remaining 5 questions to Assumption Two. Your questions must be well-focused on the research assumptions.

12. Make 10 copies of the same Questionnaire. Distribute at random to 10 different respondents. To guarantee research neutrality, avoid close individuals who might know about your views or stands. Explain to each respondent the purpose of this academic research. Avoid privacy questions or informal non-academic language. Explain to respondents what they need to know about your research/questionnaire. Remember respondents represent a random sample of the public to which we are most grateful for participating in our academic investigation.

13. Make sure you would collect the completed questionnaires from respondents with thanks and regards. Don’t ask respondents to bring questionnaires to you.

14. You may conduct interviews with a few experts on the field of your research for in-depth discussion only if they agree to it.
