Facebook is an American based social media and social networking service company based out of Menlo Park, California. Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook 4, 2004, the social media site now has over 2.2 billion users to date. I’ve personally been a Facebook user since 2006 when you could only become a member by having an active college/university email address. Over the years I have seen Facebook improve in many way, as time and technology changes so has social media. Social media has made it convenient for people to communicate, share their everyday life, as well as marketing other businesses.

Facebook has grown significantly to where they now offer individuals the opportunity to market their business for free, and for a fee depending on what type of audience you would like your advertisement to reach. Making a business page, is the new way to promote and market their business. With the new era on the rise Facebook is trying to keep up with the new way of conducting business, and connecting with new and old consumers. The problem that arises is the fake businesses, and ads that being published via social media. Because of how large of a company Facebook is, and the amount of people who are using the social media it’s hard to control exactly what and who posts on the social network. The anger, hate, sexual content, and much are starting to overwhelm social media accounts.

The nature of the Facebook ads is abusive, derogatory, and harmful to those who invest into the social media. As a viewer and account holder Facebook holds a responsibility to its audience to keep them safe.
