to combine Jazz with other international music styles. Artists have embraced Jazz as part of their

personal life, thus attracting more attention to this music genre. Kendrick Lamar and Kamasi

Washington applied techniques and a mixture of jazz and hip-hop to create a new contemporary

international hip-hop hits, while Kamasi Washington is an exceptional jazz artist utilizing the

Personal reaction to the song.

After listening to the Epic, it sounds like a generational intervention. It is more of an

educational approach that presents the styles used in Jazz music. I could feel Kamasi's sense of

melodrama in every chorus of the song. Washington, together with his musicians, sequenced the
