Extra Credit Essay

 

LENGTH: 1000 words

 

Throughout this semester, you should have been utilizing the free writing support programs offered at the college such as Brainfuse, the Academic Success Center, and research appointments with a Faculty Librarian, in addition to the in-class peer review and feedback from your instructor. 

For this extra credit assignment, select two support programs you chose to utilize this term. You will need to submit a short summary of each experience, comparing and contrasting them, and include information on what feedback was given, and how you incorporated that information into your work, as well as a reflection of how you've grown as a writer by taking this course.

This essay should be approximately 2-4 pages in length and saved as a .docx, .doc, or .rtf files.   Additionally, as you upload your essay, you must include attachments that can validate that you did meet with writing support staff.  (Receipts, emails, photos, notes, etc. are all acceptable.)

 

Key Requirements:

I will grade your paper based on the following elements:

• Paper is based on your own ideas, yet written in in 3rd person point-of-view. 
• Proper summary of each experience, comparing and contrasting them, and includes information on what feedback was given, and how you incorporated that information into your work, as well as a persuasive reflection of how you've grown as a writer by taking this course. 
• Proper grammar, spelling, syntax, and sentence mechanics.
• Proper academic tone.
• A clear, thoughtful, sophisticated, and intelligent argument.

How Extra Credit will be Awarded:

You must show evidence of being well-versed in the material covered this semester by illustrating this through a persuasive essay that convinces the reader that you've grown as a writer through your course studies this term.

Any plagiarism on this paper or any of the steps in the writing process will lead to immediate failure of this course, so please do not make that mistake.
