Research Paper Assignments
Explanation of your revisions
After you have revised both segments based on my comments, and then compiled the two papers into one big research paper, you are almost finished! One way to think of the compiled research paper is that you can't possibly do worse than the average of the two grades you received on the segments. But most of you, of course, will want to improve those grades.
The last thing I need you to do is write me a quick note that explains what changes you made. This is a way for you to call my attention to where you want it most, so I can tell what you've been up to this week.
Here is a sample of something you might say:
"This week, I addressed your comments about MLA formatting, especially in-text citations and my Works Cited page. In the second half of my paper, I removed a few paragraphs and then used that space to elaborate in more detail on the remaining main ideas. Throughout the whole paper, I tried to clarify all the sentences you highlighted in yellow, and I think I fixed all the verb errors."
