The UK Minister for Africa, James Duddridge stated that Ghana and UK strong partnership and signing of free trade agreement worth £1.2 billion marks a crucial component for boosting trade between the two countries. The free trade help businesses engage in innovation, job creation, and scale up their operations. Ghana’s largest exports to the UK include oil and mineral fuels and preparation of cocoa, fish, and fruit. The free trade agreement fosters Shell plc business growth as it exports oil and mineral fuels to the UK without tariff. Additionally, Ghana imports mechanical appliances, clothing, machinery and chemical products from the UK. The raw material or the input for producing the chemical products for Ghana’s import are Shell plc’s output, which is an advantage to this multinational organization.
