Professional Organizations and Common Themes

The professional organizations chosen have some similarity in terms of themes and general scope in addressing mental health issues. The overarching similarities in themes include the creation of forums where members can share information to facilitate better service delivery. Additionally, both the three organizational bodies are mainly advancing the interests of individual organizations as well as those of their members (Myers, Sweeney, & White, 2002).

Treatment of depression

Treatment of depression requires the integrated approach, which has been lacking among health professionals and practitioners in the treatment of mental disorders. Professionals from various mental health organizations should take part in further research studies on evidence-based treatment of depression among patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. This is important in finding a lasting solution and effective approach in the treatment of the mental disorder. Moreover, professionals and practitioners from various bodies should create a forum where members from different professional organizations can share ideas, knowledge, and information as opposed to sharing such vital information with members from the same organization as it is currently. This is critical in creating an integrated approach in the treatment of depression among patients (Souery, Papakostas, & Trivedi, 2006).
