Exercise Presentation
Students will select an exercise and create a video providing information on various aspects of the exercise. Below is the information to include in your video. Criteria for exercise selection:
- Safety: Perform an exercise you can perform safely - Engages multiple muscles: Select an exercise that engages more than one muscle. An example could be
a body weight squat (e.g. glutes, quads, adductors, abdominals). Another example could be a push up (e.g. pectorals, triceps, and deltoids). Do not use any of the example exercises for your presentation.
- Moves at multiple joints Exercise Performance (20 points) Students must include a video of them performing the exercise with proper technique. Muscles (5 points) Include information about the muscle or groups of muscles engaged throughout the exercise. Plane of Motion (5 points) State the plane or planes of motions the exercise takes place in. Articulations (5 points) Identify the joints that move throughout the exercise as well as what type of movement takes place at said joint. Set Up (15 points) Walk through a detailed set up for the exercise. Discuss how to properly set up and position a client to perform the exercise correctly. Exercise Technique (15 points) Discuss how to properly perform the exercise. Consider all the active body parts throughout the exercise. Reasons Why (25 points) Provide five different reasons why someone might include this exercise in their workout. (5 points each) Time (10 points) Presentations must be a minimum 10 minute.
