Greetings,
With so much personal information now accessible electronically, the safety of private information, and data breach has become a considerable issue for health administrators. HIPPA is intended to safeguard the confidentiality, and availability of ePHI. Every healthcare facility should comply with the HIPAA Federal law; and maintains the privacy, truthfulness, and accessibility of electronic protected health information. (CMS, 2018) GAH priority is to safeguard patient medical information and make it a priority. PHI permits the release of private information that is vital and necessary for patient care and other purpose and will allow patients to have access to their medical information.
Core Competencies needed to prepare GAH to meet Joint Commission requirements are
· Provide compassionate and effective care.
· Demonstrate medical and clinical knowledge and be able to utilize the information while delivering patient care. Be also able to examine, evaluate, and improve patient care practices.
· Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and the medical team.
· Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development, ethics, and sensitivity to diversity.
Control techniques and measures will be put in place to guarantee the competencies and functions are accomplished.
