communispond.com/insights/blog/2016/06/29/82/barriers-to-cross-cultural-business-communication
I chose this site because it was resourceful and full of information on how to communicate and ensure it is understood. The main idea is that we do not want to offend other cultures or strain relationships with potential business partners.
Purpose:
To realize that throughout the world, everyone is different whether it be religion, language, or culture. Even people within the same country have different cultures and semantics.
Problem:
There is a lot of prejudice that happens because of the differences and lack of willingness to understand. There is a lot of times that people get offended because of misunderstandings.
Solution:
Having people take the time to learn the culture, especially in a work environment. It can help break down barriers and strengthen business ventures with partners in different parts of the world. It contributes to being adaptable and understanding.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the United States has a very broad and diverse spread of culture whereas other countries tend to stick to the culture they are exposed to. If we are more understanding and take the time to adapt, we can learn so much more about other cultures and how they work. Cultures differ from place to place, and it is best to be mindful of these differences. Prejudice may occur, but if we change our thinking and are open to adapt, everyone can be happier.
