I am working as Lead Business analyst for Walmart. As Business Analyst I am responsible for requirements gathering, analyzing, designing, clarifying and preparing the documents and validating the list of system requirements which should meet/satisfy the stakeholders/Client. My role helps me in approaching the leadership qualities and inform the team “What” outcome should they need to achieve the given requirements and the responsibility to the IT team. Coming to the problem-solving skills, as a BA I will make sure that the real problem is solved by doing the appropriate research and investigation has done for the problem with the multiple solutions are identifies (Keeping in mind not with one solution).
Good decisions are one of the key profits and the success of the business depends on how the decisions are been made which would be on top level and how the business is implemented/executed by the Product owners and Technical team. By enhancing the portfolio, the organizations will have idea on when to stick to their core competence. This will help them to understand the market and when to make the decisions. My role as Business analyst for this organizations would be analyzing the market trends and help them with new insights and recommendations on the projects.
Walmart is the organizations which is always open for new improvements, they thick out of box and do not stick to the old values. I would also have the understanding with my financial performance the pros and cons of making the decision which would be a far reaching. To avoid the failure of projects and make a good decision our team should have an ability to manage the risk and much more challenges than that. Many things come into mind when making a good decision the timings, Justification to the client requirements, and the outcomes of the project. Experience, coloration and insights plays a major role for making decisions.
This Course Organizational leadership and Decision making help me in many accepts when i was working with stakeholders and the business team. I have built many skills from this subject on the methodologies like project management, strategic planning, Scrum ceremonies. The most important things are preparing the use case in detail which helps in making the decision easily for the business team and can get the feedback from the subject matter expert on the quality of the decision making. Shadowing with Subject matter expert which I am unfamiliar with and add the description on understanding how the roles and responsibilities are related.
As per me great decisions will take number of practices which I feel that the system requires a n amount of comfort with the discomfort. We should decide whether the decision should be taken quickly, or any other additional information is needed. If the business team need any other additional information as a Business analyst I would create the parameters on what additional information is needed and when can we expect the information (This would be a task for the product owner for whom I create a user story in JIRA/ Confluence) .
