Marketing & Sales

Marketing Plan

We plan to distribute leaflet in supermarkets and schools. The contents of the leaflets mainly cover the address of our bakery, and the promotion of special breads and cakes.

We will customize some eco-friendly shopping bags with baked goods trademarks and information. These eco-friendly shopping bags can be used multiple times. We hope that customers can keep these shopping bags after they have finished using them. This will also promote the promotion of our bakery when it is baked in the store's trademark.

Sales Plan

We plan to adopt the membership system, you can get a 8% discount when you recharge 100 dollars, and get a 20% discount when you recharge 200 dollars. And we will record the member's birthday, members can receive a free birthday cake in our store on the birthday.

We will take the member reward mechanism, if our members recommend their friends to buy our products. As long as they tell the cashier's recommender's membership number at checkout, they can also get a 10% discount, and the recommender will reward 5 dollors to the membership card.

Operations

Locations & Facilities

The Amber’s Bakery is located at San Bernardino downtown, and the specific physical location where is near the mall or in the plaza. There are more people around there. Our office is also in San Bernardino, and it should near our Bakery store, we don’t need very big space for the office, because we have very small management. Everyone has a clear division of labor, so we only need a few small offices, maybe less. It can save costs of opening bakery. Our Bakery store should also don’t need lots of space, I think around 1500 square feet is the best option, or we can do less. It really depends on the location where we choose. In the future, we can open the chain

stores in other neighborhoods, but we still will not expand the store space, which adds more cost than revenue. For our manufacturing, we make the bread or coffee at store. Thus, we don’t need an extra manufacturing plant. But we do need a storage facility for putting the law materials which is a small storage. It's like the capacity of a truck.

Technology

We probably need the office software, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. We need the worksheet to statistic the data and Word to record the reports. We need the retail POS system and related hardware to operate all of the purchase and we use the e-commerce engine to make our own website, such as Shopify, Magento. We also want to make sure the store is secure, with proper monitors and security systems.

Equipment & Tools

I found on google and Amazon, there are lots of stuffs we have to buy for bake bread and cake. For example, “we are supposed to buy mixers, oven, dough proffer, bakeware, small wares, dough sheeter, bread slicer, sheet pan racks, dry storage, refrigeration, doughnut cake fryer, display case and wood top work table” (A baker’s Dozen). These basically include all the equipment we need to buy. Here is the list that we need for making coffee. Automatic drip coffee makers, a high-quality espresso machine, an industrial coffee grinder, containers, pumps, assorted miscellaneous, oven, toasters, devices, shelving, freezers, cold product storage and industrial blenders. Milestones

We expect that we can expand 100 members every month, and we want to increase the number of repurchases of our customers through this way.

We plan to develop a new product every month, and we will invite members to taste it by SMS or email. We hope to let customers know that our bakery is trying to provide better baked goods, and we are constantly updating and optimize the taste of our baked goods.

Key Metrics

I think that as a baking shop, the taste of our baked goods is the most important indicator. In the early days of opening, we will provide a free tasting of each kind of baked goods, and record which products are more preferred by customers. During the business hours, we will continue to listen to customers' opinions to better improve the taste of our baked goods. I feel that when every customer can find a baked food that he/she really loves in our baking shop, then our bakery can be successful!
