EXCEL/ MATRIX Assignment instruction Puspa Misra

Before you begin working on this assignment, click on the evaluation Matrix Power Point Tutorial to have an idea how it is constructed.

In this assignment you need to choose 3 careers, one can be your major and the other two should be any technology career. You need to compare these 3 careers side by side on each criterion.

Step 1: Watch the Power Point tutorial how to create your evaluation matrix spreadsheet. It has the example and step by step process how to construct the Matrix.

Step 2: Choose 3 careers/positions of your choice (for example: system analyst, software engineer, help desk technician) to evaluate.

Step 3: There will be 3 criteria for the comparison...... Cost of Education, Salary and Scope of work (Everyone should use these Criteria (if you want, you can add more), and personally weigh each criterion out of 100. 

Here are the Basics for Matrix………

· Given Criteria…Example… Cost of Education, Salary and Scope of work (Everyone should use these Criteria, if you want to add more you can certainly do that.)

· Each criterion should be given a weight, total out of100

· Then Rate 3 Careers on how well they meet the criteria according to your specifications.

· Then Combine the ratings (use formula: SUM Function) for each career to get a raw score

· Then Compute the weighted score with formula which should be “Ratings multiplied by weight” for each Career

· Besides this, your Matrix Should have a title + your name, formatted, merged and centered.

· Construct a Bar chart on the base of your data what you gathered.

· Chart should have a title, legend keys, and jobs name should be merged and centered.

· Do not include Weight and Total in your Chart. Hint: highlight criteria column, hold on CTRL key on keyboard, highlight job1, job 2 and job3 columns, then click insert--chart-choose the first Bar 2 D chart.

Following is a sample spreadsheet shows how the final Matrix should look like.

After the Completion, name this file EM_XXXXXXXX.xlsx where the XXXXXXXX represent your Full name, save it, close it and submit it for Grading.
