I think having groups working in the project was a very good idea, as this helps improving many skills for students who are going to become future engineers. In the real world, engineers are going to work on projects and they need to communicate and work as a group to succeed in the project. Working in this project helped each individual even if they did not notice that. I really liked the idea of working on this project throughout the semester and dividing the project into assignments. This helps each group to be on track and if a group falls back behind they can still catch up. I also liked the trip we took to the UDRI as we got the experience to actually see in real life the machines we are studying and what we might end up working on in our future jobs. I thought it was interesting and fun and it was also the first time I visited the UDRI. I also liked that we worked in the lab on our project and having us use the drawings that we did at the beginning of the semester. We actually created the design that we came up with which was fun and interesting. Other classes require us to come up with designs and do calculations and then stop and work on another project but this class actually gave us the opportunity to reach the design that we come up with and see if it actually works or not. We had lots of mistakes but the mistakes we did is what helped us reach our final design and make us learn. I liked that we had our part being created using 3D printing and it shows how accurate It is, whatever you draw is what you get. Using the insight program was also interesting, and I think that it is very important to at least have engineers work on it and have at least basic knowledge about it. Now a day, everything is moving towards technology and it is becoming an essential thing to at least know how to use programs and work with technology. I also liked the presentation day because each group had a chance to see other ideas and learn from them. It also gives a chance for students to show designs and briefly explain each design and why they chose their design following their calculations. I think the only thing that needs to be added is having each person giving a stick note with a question or a comment for the presenters as they will benefit from them. This idea will also help having the audience to fully concentrate on the presenters and learn from them, so every group and individual will benefit from it.
