What is ”Social Math”?

Simple: A type of metaphor that makes the problem or your solution relatable to “every day” life of your audience • Social math to bring to life a problem: 25% of people who chew gum have experienced tooth decay and need to see the dentist as a result. )(Not a real statistic.) That is 1 in 4 people, or rather, akin to everyone sitting between 1st and 2nd bases at a full Dodger Stadium. • Social math to bring to life a solution: We invite teens to attend our 3 month session - program that focuses on SEL. It costs $100 to have one teen attend each session. For the price of 3 dinners out - over the course of the same 3-month period, you can send a teen to our program. OR For the same amount that you would spend on 3 dinners out, you could help raise SEL among our teens. OR We can improve each teen’s SEL and it only costs us about the same as 3 dinners out.

For the cost of one Deluxe Burrito at a dine-in Mexican restaurant, you can help a pregnant mother in need by funding one of her one-hour long maternal education class.

Every day, approximately 17 veterans die by suicide in the U.S. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Southeast Guide Dogs has paired over 200 veterans with service dogs and none have committed suicide. Different traumas and challenges require different levels of dog training, but it all costs money. Imagine that this person put themselves in harms way to serve our country and our freedom. The least we can do is forego a dinner out ($50) each month as our way of thanking them for their service.

Thriving Child International provides homes for orphaned refugees. Each house is home to 6-8 girls and two paid, guardians. It costs $12,000 a year to care for each child. We also provide them with education, psychological care, and legal advocacy. Without our care, they are subject to sexual exploitation, institutionalization, and trafficking. For the cost of your family’s country club access, you and your family can leave a legacy when you sponsor the creation of a new home, in your family’s namesake.
