On the GSS Survey the Variable is “abany”.

Identify variables (one DV, at least one IV) which you have found in the GSS dataset (see the attachment below).

The Independent Variable is Women and the Dependent Variable is whether they think a woman should be able to have a legal abortion Yes, No, don’t know, or no answer.

GSS survey question for variable “abany” is as follows: Please tell me whether or not it should be possible for a pregnant woman to obtain a legal abortion if the woman wants for any reason.

Explain why you chose these variables for your project.

I choose these variables because it is a huge topic in our country right now.

Explain why you think there is a correlation or a relationship.

The variables and the topic have a correlation because you are asking women to weigh in on what they feel about women reproductive rights.
