Company Description
Amegy Bank of Texas (ABT) was founded by Walter Johnson in 1990 [CITATION
2018 \l 1033 ]. Mr. Johnson wanted to change the way of banking in Texas after a rough 1980s
(2018). He desired to create a bank for the Texans that gave the feel of a large bank but also give
their customers a Texas feel and be dedicated to the community (2018). Mr. Johnson was able to
make his manifestation come true by convincing over 100 investors to invest in a bank that was
created by Texans for Texans (2018). Amegy started off with only one bank and twenty bankers
and $50 million in assets (2018).
Currently, ABT is a part of Zions Bancorporation which is one of the most premier
financial institutions (2018). By becoming a part of Zions Bancorporation, Amegy is offered
both stability and resources (2018). Although, they are apart of a larger financial institution they
still remain focus on their clients offering them what they refer as “Community Bank
Partnership” (2018). Community Bank Partnership offers a 360 view to their customers offering
them customized solutions for both their personal and business banking needs (2018).
Problem Statement
For Relationship Mangers and Client Relationship Managers to be able to fully utilize the
My Portfolio Reporting intranet site that is available to them, it is imperative that they are able
fully understand the data that is included in the reports that they receive. The problem needs to
be addressed because it is far too often that the end users are overwhelm by the amount of data
that is available and either don’t use the report at all or only use the reports that they understand.

Business Intelligence Analyst that develop these reports. Also, it will assist the users of the
report to be able to understand the data that is included in the reporting.
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this project is to create a tool that utilizes a Human Computer
Interaction interface (HCI) that will give them both the guidance and information that will assist
them to use the My Reporting Portal at its full potential. By implanting an HCI will potentially
add a better more user-friendly experience (2015).
Currently, the Business Intelligence Group offers quarterly live webinars to host
trainings on the portal. It would be beneficial to implement a new form of Human Computer
Interaction interface to alleviate redundancy of inquires for a few different reasons. First, the
HCI will be able to direct the user to the report that best will fit their immediate need. Second,
the HCI will have an interface that will explain the fields/data that is included in the report.
Lastly, it will include a getting started guide that will benefit both new employees and those that
are unable to attend one of the quarterly training classes.
Project Description
The My Reporting Portal Intranet Site, I believe is not necessarily poorly
designed, but it could absolutely use a few enhancements to assist the users in using the reports
at their full potential. One of the positive components of the system is that it recognizes the user
login information and takes them directly to their dashboard for their portfolio. The dashboard
has several different options that allows the user to go to specific reports. Once the user selects a
hyperlink on the report it leads them to a series of reports. Currently, the My Reporting Portal
offers the user somewhat of an HCI experience by offering many input controls to filter the

information for most reports that are available on the portal. Also, the report includes a table of
contents with a brief summary of what data is available on each tab of the report.
Identify the Users
Business Intelligence Analyst
The main responsibility of the Business Intelligence Analyst is to elicit information from
Relationship Managers, Branch Managers and Client Relationship Associates in order to design
reports that will assist them to make decisions based on the customers that are in their portfolios.
The role of the Business Intelligence Analyst also includes maintaining the reports to make sure
that they are generated based on the service level agreement that they have with the users, which
is weekly. Next, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for updating the reports with
any requested changes by the multiple users. Finally, the Business Intelligence Analyst provides
training and guidance to the end users.
Relationship Managers
Relationship Managers essentially are responsible for certain customer accounts. The
accounts that these managers can oversee are consisted of both loans and deposit accounts for
both individuals and businesses. Also, the relationship managers responsibility is to effectively
find methods to retain and gain new customers.
Client Relationship Associates
Client Relationship Associates are responsible for assisting the Relationship Managers
manage their portfolios. The functionality of Client Relationship Associates mainly consist of
reviewing reports for their Relationship Managers and often times may create reporting based off

reports that are generated by the Business Intelligence Group. Client Relationship Managers
often support multiple Relationship Managers.
Branch Managers
Branch Managers have many different responsibilities within ABT. They overall areheld
accountable for the operations of the Branch they lead. Just as important as operation that main
object of the Branch Manager is to increase revenue for the Bank. They are also responsible for
multiple bankers in the branch which intel of hiring and training the employees.
Assistant Branch Managers
The Assistant Branch Manger supports the Branch Manager by making sure that the
operation of the bank sustains day to day activities. Assistant Branch Mangers interacts more
often with the bank tellers and the customers of the bank
Conclusion
The reason that I chose Amegy Bank of Texas because I am an employee there and I have
familiar with the technology and what improvements I would make if my opinion was asked of
me. I chose the My Reporting Portal Intranet website that is used by an array of employees for
the company because I am a part of the maintenance and training team of the different reports
that are available to the users. The target audience of the My Reporting Portal is intended to be
used by Relationship Managers, Branch Managers and Client Relationship Associates. .
