Dear Administrator,

It is my honor to notify you that one of your teachers has been nominated for the channel 6 Golden Apple Award. This award is given to teachers who excel in their field and go above and beyond to help each child reach their full potential. Your preschool teacher Mrs. Ashland is nominated for this award the parents of her student as well as her students. As a judge on the committee, it is my job to analyze the letter that I received about Mrs. Ashland using the dispositions of effective early childhood educators and NAEYC’s Statement of Commitment to determine if she possesses the necessary skills and qualities to win the award. After a careful review of the letter and further investigation, I found Mrs. Ashland does have the skills and qualities to receive the award.

In Support of my findings, the following is an outline of the qualities Mrs. Ashland possesses that qualified her for the Channel 6 Golden Apple Award.

Mrs. Ashland also shows she deserves the Channel 6 Golden Apple Award through her adherence to NAEYC’s Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment:

 Appreciating childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle.

 Basing her work on knowledge of how children develop and learn.

 Appreciating and supporting the bond between child and family.

 Recognizing that children are best understood and support in the context of family, culture, community,and society.

 Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect.

 Respects diversity in children, families, and colleagues
