Netflix continues to rise domestically and internationally. Its revenue of 2.29 billion is up 36% for the year beating its expectations. However, most of its revenue was created abroad where Netflix is expanding into new markets. Netflix isn’t expected to get many new subscribers domestically unless there a new release of shows made available on Netflix. Netflix has exceeded expectations with shares doubling from 6 cents to 12. Positive results in the rising numbers of streamers exceeds expectations by the millions. Wall Street are projecting buying stock in Netflix now isn’t wise due to people already using the service and many not wanted to join in its 4th quarter. Oracle completed acquiring Netsuite, a cloud application software company. Netsuit was bought for 9.3 billion. Oracle’s chairman had about 40% holding of Nertsuite making it easy to acquire the company. Oracle wants to build its cloud base side of its company to access it the market in cloud applications to gain a higher revenue.

Nike has done well with its basketball franchise deals, ruling the shoe market. The athletic company has had competition with Under Armour she revenue rising especially with or basketball player Steph Curry’s show doing well. Nike is relying on international sales to increase its revenue.

1.2 Market Analysis

As president-elect Donald Trump continues to build his cabinet for his upcoming 2017 reign in office many have been speculating who can take the open positions. The news has been calling out many promising candidates. Many of these candidates work in government offices or big businesses. The economy has been doing well this week due to many of these companies being happy with these candidates. Many believe Trump are trying to help big businesses in creating jobs and stimulating the company. With the choosing of a new cabinet, the economy should start rising. The dollar has increased in value after Trump’s election win. Although many are worried that a strong dollar will hurt exporters. The dollar is up 4% since the election. The value of the dollar has impacted earnings.

The Christmas season is also approaching causing many companies an increase in quarter 4 revenue. Nike is expecting a big increase in revenue due to his limited edition shoes being made available during the winter season as gifts. Disney is also excited for the upcoming quarter with revenue increasing for the season. Disney offers deals for its amusement parks during the holiday season. Discover Financial Services is waiting to see what Trump will do to stimulate the economy to help big banks to decides how to increase its own revenue. Harley Davidson’s holiday season will see an increase in demand due to the upcoming deals and presents of its high quality motorcycles. Expedia is ready for the holiday season for travelers relying on the site for their destinations services.
