The results of this experiment were very interesting as they demonstrated how people might feel when they experience emotions such as being sad happy or angry. It is evident that, although the emotion may be the same, they may be described or experienced slightly differently from one another. Common similarities seem to surround physical sensations of either fatigue or feeling sick or a loss of appetite when sad or angry as well as being talkative and cheerful when happy. This makes sense when looking at the reading found on the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system also known as the emergency system in our bodies. The sympathetic nervous system seems to take a severe effect on anger or sadness emotions. This makes sense as this system is specially designed to be the fight or flight system of the body to operate properly during emergencies. This reaction, whether it be physical or psychological, is due to the activity in the section of the nervous systems that control responses such as sweating and hormones such as adrenaline which can raise one’s heart rate. This is evident when we see how people describe how they deal with feeling angry or sad, either by snapping or being outwardly emotional, having appetite issues etc. Depression is already a state of low mood and antipathy to activity that can affect behaviour's thoughts, feelings, and sense of well-being. Depression can cause an already low-acting sympathetic nervous system to be even more hindered. This more extreme decline in the sympathetic nervous system can lead to health issues and problems in the future.
