Choose 3 cities (or areas) to investigate for employment and living. Organize materials below by city names: 1. Provide ALL backup documentation in appendices (Xeroxes or printouts of sources should be neatly labeled and presented

in an organized fashion in order to receive credit). 2. Include the following information as a minimum for each city or area:

a. Demographics (average age, male to female ratio, ethnic groups, etc.); b. Housing (available types that YOU would consider, associated costs, locations, rent or purchase, distance to

possible employment, etc.) c. A list of five possible employers with complete contact information d. Evidence of current employment opportunities in interior design or related area (interior design or related

example of recent meeting announcement etc. f. Child Care, Older adult care, schools, etc. if anticipated to be applicable for dependents g. 3. Produce an estimated itemized, annual expense projection for entry level interior design position in one of your selected areas or an average of your selected areas in spread sheet format. Include line item pricing for:

a. Personal expenses (groceries, rent, health and life insurance, entertainment etc.) b. Profession‐related expenses (professional organization dues, transportation to/from work, professional clothing,

etc.) 4. Determine Cost of Living (calculated with a program such as those shown below) comparison and compare this to your
