In this summary, we will identify the organization that we have chosen to study by using the OD process, which is Kabob House. Also, this summary will be included some information about the entry phases of OD we have discussed such as Diagnosis and feedback. In the end will have a time line that gather all the important meetings and interview with the organization.

Identifying Kabob House

Kabob house is Mediterranean cuisine in both Yakima and Ellensburg. Kabob House is owned business, Ahmed Alhussin. 2009 they started the first business in Yakima, Nob Hill. After six years later, they decided to open a new business in Ellensburg. Recently, they moved their Yakima’s business to bigger and better location. Also, they are planning to open a second business in Yakima.

Phases of OD program

Entry Phase: During the entry phase, I have spoken to the Ellensburg Kabob House manager. I then was able to speak to the principal of the Kabob House (the owner) and got the okay to do an organizational change analysis on the Ellensburg Kabob House. The Kabob is fairly new in Ellensburg, and would be a perfect organization to do a change analysis on.

Contracting Phase: I plan on sending this to the principle of the Kabob House so that the principle understands what is going to happen during the change diagnosis. I will also see if the timeline that is being presented, fits with the principal of the Kabob House. I want to explain to the principal what I am doing, and that I will be performing a diagnosis of change for the organization with the help of the principal. I want to find out what is going well within the Kabob House and what is going wrong. I will take what I learn and figure out an appropriate plan of change that will help the organization. I will also be sending in a document to the principal explaining the purpose of my project.

Diagnosis Phase: During this phase, I will be gathering more information on the Kabob House to find out what I need to know. I will then, conduct an interview with the principal of the Kabob House to gather more information. I will also, do two more interviews with two other people inside the organization to further my knowledge of what is going well and what is not going well in the Kabob House. After gathering all the information that I need, I will perform a SWOT analysis. I will focus on an area, and start my change process and create a change plan.

Feedback Phase: I will turn in my change plan to the principal of the Kabob House. I will then, be able to get feedback from the principal, explaining to me what they like and dislike about the change plan. Also, after spending time with the other employees and doing my research, I will be able to type up a reflection paper based of this feedback and off of what I learned from performing this change analysis.

Organization Chart

The Kabob house is led by Debbie, the Owner. Also, the Kabob house has two locations, one in Yakima, and the other in Ellensburg and the Commissary Kitchen with approximately 37 employees. The Ellensburg Kabob house staff: Manager (Karolina) Kitchen manger (Hussein) Assistant manager (Sebastian) and two line cooks. Also, one server and a busser. Karolina quickly moved up to fine dining serving where she perfected her formal, customer-centric serving approach.

Kabob house is a business that envelopes fine dining of unique Mediterranean taste and an excellent bar and grill atmosphere. The mission is not only to have great tasting food, but have efficient and friendly service. They concentrate on customer satisfaction and quality food that is always fresh and specially selected.

April 12 Submit document to professor about organization and getting the okay from the manager of the organization.

May 3rd submit a draft one draft letter to the main principle, describing the purpose of you project, benefits and goals.

May 4th - confirm interview with the organization

May 8th - Develop and submit ten drat interview questions.

May 17th - Perform interview with the Principal and one restaurant manager.

Feedback

May 20th -do organizational change plan

May 24th -Submit document to manager and go over the changes and get feedback.
