RE: Graduate Electrical Engineer position

I am writing to apply for the Graduate Electrical Engineer position, which was advertised on Seek

website. I recently graduated from Swinburne University of Technology with Bachelor of

Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) (Honors) with a major in Electronics and Power Systems.

My motivations include learning new things and the challenge of meeting key objectives. I am

fascinated to work at Wilson Transformer Company as it is involved in solving real world problem

by coming up with innovative ideas. Also, the encouragement and the open space that Wilson

Transformer Company provides for their employees to think creatively and innovatively made me

apply for this position.

The course at Swinburne University of Technology have enabled me to gain a competitive

knowledge in the field of electrical and electronics. The subjects I have learnt, specifically Power

systems, Power Operation and Control, Integrated Circuit Design, Control and Automation,

Digital Electronic Design have given me the necessary knowledge and skills to work at Wilson

Transformer Company. I have High Distinction average in power and math’s related subjects that

I have undertaken so far.

I have completed several projects relating to the studied units. One of them was a project involving

VHDL programming to control a traffic intersection during my second year. Also, analysis and

development of a business plan for designing of an innovative product, during the study of

Engineering Management subject. My final year project focused on building an appliance to

specifically detect a bird call Rosella, with the use of Fast Fourier Transform algorithms in sound

recognition. In addition, my strengths include the ability to mix and relate well to others, innovative

problem-solving skills, good presentation skills and working in teams in achieving a desired goal,

which were demonstrated at the University and while employment at Medibank Icehouse.

I am confident that I can make an immediate and valuable contribution to Wilson Transformer
