Corporate Aviation Proposal Outline Example

I. INTRODUCTION

The NBAA Business Aviation Fact Book is a great resource for the introduction. Highlight uses, reasons, and any justifications in this section.

II. TRAVEL NEED ANALYSIS

In this section a little bit of role-playing is approved. Consider the information in the instructions for the level of need, project any future growth, and try and quantify the level of need (hours). All assertions require good arguments (Don’t just say the aircraft saves time; how much?) You must have at least on graphic in this section. You could use a map with range rings, etc.

III. AIRCRAFT REQUIREMENT

Take the information you highlighted in the above section and begin to look at how different aircraft would be utilized. What are the fixed and variable costs? Should the company buy new or used? Do the aircraft selected meet company needs? In the end I would suggest at least two to three models. I would avoid selecting one aircraft. Plan to have at least one graphic or table here to illustrate costs. You could easily have a second that compare the aircraft you’ve chosen.

IV. MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENT

Now the details. Use this section to highlight the management side of the department. Address issues like personel, budgets, contingencies, supplemental lift, organizational structure, etc.

V. CONCLUSION

In this section wrap up the study with two main ideas: (1) Highlight the aircraft selected (3 – 4 models) and (2) other decision factors (purchase vs lease, in-house vs management company, depreciation need vs business performance ratios, etc.).

VI. REFERENCES

Have at least four resources. Business and Commercial Aviation magazine is another good source. Also, AvBuyer, Business Jet Traveler, and Aviation International News are great sources. See the sample list below:
